OK - re-made the layout. Deleted most of the trash posts that have been lingered here choking the blog for too long. Now, there will only be quality (well to some extent at least) posts and pictures and every post will tell a story one way or another.
This might mean fewer posts, but less garbage. For those interested in garbage (I know I am) - there is always Twitter.

Personally I think you removed too much from your blog.
Regarding Twitter: it depends on how you use it. My content is always authentic anyway. Boring = yes, but always authentic and this means it has great value to anyone which would be interested in what I'm doing.
Twitter has been warned as an security risk as others sometimes can see if you are home or not. (burglars...)
Well, the deed is done! But new posts are coming. It's a good point to not be too detailed about trips and such on Twitter! That certainly goes for blogs too. It seems to be a good idea to write about a trip when you travel, but not post until you are home again.
